Greenmantle
Magazine was started in 1993 by Paul Pearson, who has been a practising
Pagan for over 25 years. His research into Pagan practices and magickal
workings have given him experience in many diverse traditions.
Beginning
his magickal workings with a coven of Cheshire traditionals, he
then became a founder member and scribe of The Hermetic Order
Of The Silver Blade, before teaching in Essex. Paul has been
a writer for most of his life and is an award winning poet and a
songwriter, and adapted Alan Garner's novel, The Weirdstone
Of Brisingamen into a critically acclaimed musical.
Before
beginning Greenmantle Paul was a regular contributor to several
magazines including Ignews and Gates Of Anywn.
Greenmantle itself was winner of the Golden broomstick award and
still continues to challenge many conventions in the Pagan world.
Since
it's conception, the layout and Artwork for the Magazine has been
produced by Pagan artist Tricia Gill, founder member of Altar Image
designs, and also a Pagan of over 25 years.
After completing
her training at Manchester and Hull Art Colleges, where she specialized
in illustration and fine art, she developed a unique approach to
portraying the natural world.
She has
had numerous exhibitions of her work throughout the UK, including
Glastonbury and the Brighton Festival, and sells her work mail
order.
Additionally
she continues to be commissioned to contribute illustrations to
a variety of publications including Greenmantle, and has illustrated
a story for Careful magazine Issue 3, and has just finished an exhibition
at the Druid's in Brightonin April and the open studio exhibition
in the Brighton Festival this May with Indifference
Productions Morrigan Nihil.
She is also
a
